CVLI Newsletter for November, 2009
CVLI Offers Holiday Movie Suggestions
The staff at CVLI has received numerous requests from our Member Licensees to provide title suggestions for the upcoming holiday season. So we asked our colleagues to select some of their favorite movies and programs to share with you in your preparation for the holiday season.
Please note the suggestions are for the US Total Producer Package Member Licensees. The list is by no means exhaustive and should not be construed as an endorsement of any title or producer. However, all of the titles fall between a G and PG-13 rating, and you will find that most of the movies are “family friendly”. We hope you enjoy our selections and wish you a joyous holiday season!

Here’s another special holiday treat for CVLI members…ScreenVue now features 12 clips from the new Warner Bros. release this Thanksgiving season. The Blind Side is the remarkable true story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential…on and off the football field.

Mark Carroll Reflects on X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Lines from Wolverine…or my oldest brother Ricky? Could be both. Ricky Leon was a large and mischievous young lad, and with his fiery red hair and freckled pale skin, displayed the O’Carroll Irish heritage more than any in my generation.
I’ll never forget walking home at night from a 7th grade function through the mean streets of New York City (well, actually the tiny town of Woodland, Washington – but it seemed a lot bigger and nastier back then) when I was accosted by a group of high school thugs. Backing me up against the brick wall of the Presbyterian Church, they snarled, “What are you doing out this late by yourself, you little runt? Hahahahaaaaaaa….”

FOR THE RECORD:
The CVLI E-newletter for October 2009 stated that It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!, and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving were suggested titles to perform this holiday season. Please note that none of the PEANUTS programs are covered under the CVLI license and they should not be performed at your events. We apologize for any confusion.
